FREE training event for BECBC members, including networking lunch
With thanks to Tom Scaife of Baines WIlson for providing this BECBC workshop
You wouldn’t leave your office, factory or workshop unlocked or unsecured so why leave valuable intangible assets vulnerable to theft?
The intangible assets of a business are often the most valuable but this is not always recognised. Businesses do not take the necessary steps to protect them, despite the relatively low costs involved.
Intangible assets can include knowledge of a manufacturing process, details of customers and suppliers and the intellectual property of the business. As well as being vital to the successful running of a business these can be leveraged to raise capital or revenue but they must be properly protected (every episode of Dragons’ Den features the question “is it patented?”).
This workshop will cover:
- Dealing with employees:
Obligations of confidentiality, restrictive covenants and garden leave
- Intellectual Property:
What it is, why should it be protected and how can it be used to grow the business
