BECBC Workshop: Data Protection - your legal obligations

29th November 2017 from 9:00 - 14:00

Hunday Manor Hotel, near Workington

With thanks to Brian Lightowler (QG Management Standards) and Tony Wilson (Indelible Data) for providing this BECBC Workshop
(9.00am to 2.00pm with networking lunch).

Scams, computer viruses and data hacks are a threat to businesses of all sizes, from the smallest microbusiness to major international organisations - and there’ve been far too many high-profile cases for any company to ignore the risks.

Presented by Tony Wilson from Indelible Data and Brian Lightowler from QG Management Standards delegates will get the opportunity not only hear about up to date data protection requirements but be able to quiz the presenters on how it may affect them.

QG have taken the learning from Cyber Essentials and similar self-assessment and audit approaches to develop the GDPR Essentials standard. Working with legal experts and data security specialists a framework has been created that will guide SMEs through the forthcoming legislation and enable them to put everything in place.

Prior to the launch of a nationwide training programme QG are offering members of the cluster a free session on how to meet the GDPR Essentials Requirements. Should businesses then wish to apply for certification they’ll already have the knowledge of the requirements needed to present a compliant GDPR management system.
