A BECBC member workshop to encourage volunteers to be involved in presenting in schools to encourage students to consider different opportunities for their future and careers.
FREE event for BECBC members.
In our changing world customers are increasingly aware of climate change issues and are starting to question the environmental impacts of the products and services being bought. Understanding more about the carbon footprint of your business can help to provide new ideas on how to keep your business relevant and identify ways to reduce your business costs. This interactive workshop has a light but informative delivery.
The workshop is being delivered by Professor Karl Williams, University of Central Lancashire (UCLan). Karl Williams’ career evolved from heavy industry into environmental solutions for waste and has extensive experience of a range of technologies associated with resource recovery. As a Chartered Waste Manager, he has detailed knowledge of the technical, legislative and financial implications of converting waste into valuable resources. Karl Williams and UCLan have been an active partner in the Eco Innovation Project, delivering related workshops on carbon accounting, life cycle thinking and the circular economy along with delivering a range of business support to Cumbrian companies, including student research projects to reduce waste and improve business efficiency.
Whether you are a manufacturer or service delivery business this workshop is a great introduction to Green House Gas (GHG) emissions, the carbon footprint of your business and the potential opportunities to increase business profit. You will also get the chance to network with other Cumbrian businesses (eligibility criteria apply, see below).
This workshop is fully funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) for eligible businesses and there will be no charge to your business. A light buffet lunch will be provided with refreshments during the course of the day.
