DemoWind is the Offshore Wind European Research Area Network (ERA-NET) Cofund, funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 programme. DemoWind brings together European R&D funding organisations from 6 countries: Belgium, Denmark, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and the UK.
DemoWind aims to support the development and demonstration of innovative technologies which can reduce the cost of offshore wind energy. DemoWind will target capital intensive demonstration projects that would be difficult or impossible for a single country to support. It will help to align national research between the six partner countries and promote knowledge-sharing between national innovation programmes.
From the 25th of February 2015, DemoWind will offer the opportunity for project consortia to participate in its first Joint Call 2015 for collaborative offshore wind demonstration projects.
DemoWind and the Knowledge Transfer Network are organising a webinar on the 4 March, which is intended to give participants the background to the first Joint Call 2015, explain the application process and encourage interested partners to start preparing projects and building their consortia.
