Course Overview: This particular form of contract is becoming increasingly popular with Employers and is perceived to be a contract that stimulates
effective Project Management. It was the chosen contract to deliver the London 2012 Olympic Games.
The NEC 3 contract is different from other standard forms as its conditions focus on managing risk, and assessing the cost and time
effects of change at the time of the event. As such, the valuation of change is very different, in that the effects of compensation events have
to be forecast. If this contract is not administered properly, it can cause significant problems for contractors and employers alike if
‘claims’ are advanced retrospectively at the end of the Project.
