Britain’s Energy Coast Business Cluster currently has a number of active Sector Groups and there are plans for at more to reflect its growing and changing membership. The BECBC Sector Groups are for members only and provide an invaluable forum for businesses to meet others in their industry, to find out about trends and opportunities and to share information and knowledge with potential partners, clients and suppliers.
Britain’s Energy Coast Business Cluster meetings are held every month and are a great opportunity to meet other members. Other BECBC events include monthly training workshops, the BECBC Business Awards and other networking events, as well as specialist Sector Group meetings.
Business School Engagement Events enable students to gain a better understanding of the world of work as well as meet local employers who are members of the cluster. The Charity Page signposts you to some local organisations.
Digital Matters Event: Business Marketing / Promoting your own business
2.30pm to 7.00pm at Penrith Parish Halls, Penrith
The event is aimed specifically at enabling freelancers, small creative and digital businesses to maximise their marketing and promotion opportunities.
Whilst small digital and creative businesses work to support the growth of their client’s business by enhancing the web and social media profile they are often left behind in maximising their own opportunities. Too often freelance and small businesses are metaphorically left driving the old banger of a car as they are too busy repairing / upgrading other people’s car. Therefore, this event has been designed to explore how they might be able improve their own market position....and update the car to reflect their true skills and expertise.
This event will to be a practical one, designed to offer a take away menu of ideas, skills and tools provided by local marketing/ social media practitioners who could enable delegates to identify what is relevant and useful tips for their own businesses
The event is planned to cover the following points:
• Explore ways to increase their business profile to generating new / additional level of interest in their business
• Consider how to maximise their business skills to address new potential markets
• Explore whether social media and networking could generate business growth on a shoe budget and with limited time.
• Evaluate the best use of limited resources when using social media and attending networking events.
