Britain’s Energy Coast Business Cluster currently has a number of active Sector Groups and there are plans for at more to reflect its growing and changing membership. The BECBC Sector Groups are for members only and provide an invaluable forum for businesses to meet others in their industry, to find out about trends and opportunities and to share information and knowledge with potential partners, clients and suppliers.
The Colourful North is committed to ensuring Innovation is the primary social issue of which West Cumbria is in desperate need of ensuring success. Innovation is a social need not just a business need.
Britain’s Energy Coast Business Cluster meetings are held every month and are a great opportunity to meet other members. Other BECBC events include monthly training workshops, the BECBC Business Awards and other networking events, as well as specialist Sector Group meetings.
The Northern Nuclear Alliance (NNA) and Britain’s Energy Business Coast Business Cluster (BECBC) are jointly hosting an insight event to give our members an overview of the defence infrastructure programme in the UK.
Business School Engagement Events enable students to gain a better understanding of the world of work as well as meet local employers who are members of the cluster. The Charity Page signposts you to some local organisations.
Events with blue dates are BECBC events, dark grey member events.

In a bad winter, 300 elderly Cumbrians die every year due to cold weather as they are made to choose between heating and eating.
The Big Sleep is held every winter to raise money for Cumbria Community Foundation’s Winter Warmth Appeal – a pot of cash distributed to help older people suffering from rising fuel costs and poor health. In the first four years, the Big Sleep has attracted more than 600 people and raised nearly £100,000 for the appeal.
Hundreds of tent pitches are available for fundraisers who want to help keep older people warm this winter. All the money raised goes directly to keep older people warm in the cold winter months.
