Members of the BECBC Business Support Group visited Solomons Europe at their Papcastle Depot on 19 Feb 2020.
The group were welcomed by Tom Scaife, BECBC Group Lead from Baines Wilson. He introduced Dominic Doig from Solomons Europe, who gave an insightful and interesting talk on the renovation of the Papcastle Depot into a wonderful facility with meeting rooms and office space, as well as details about their core services and start-up business support projects.
Dominic and Kerry Doig used the meeting to launch the latest project on their Pay it Forward commitment – a Coworking Space Competition, which will make 5 desks available for a 6 month rental free period to ambitious fledgling businesses to help them grow and flourish. Further details available for download here - closing date has been extended to 15 March 2020.
The 5 minute business tip on IR35 by Tom Scaife generated a lot of discussion. Other tips were delivered on Know What you are Selling (Peter Fleming, Peter Fleming Business Concultancy) and Marketing Strategy (Jutta Devenish, Zeitgeist Communication).
Members had a tour of the facilities before enjoying a buffet supper whilst they networked... which went on well after the intended finish time!
Dominic was delighted that BECBC members enjoyed their evening with Solomons Europe:
“It was a real pleasure to host the BECBC Business Support Group at our Papcastle Depot site tonight. BECBC is a supportive and diverse cluster group, with many willing members happy to make introductions and work collaboratively with others to grow and develop connections and opportunities. It’s been great to see this happen here at Papcastle this evening and the event has been something we are absolutely delighted to have been able to support.”
