NSAN has been successful in its application to become the Apprenticeship Assessment Organisation (AAO) for the Nuclear Technician Apprenticeship.
This follows the approval NSAN gained in March this year as an AAO for the Nuclear Health Physics Monitor Apprenticeship.
Companies that have, or are looking at starting apprentices on the new Nuclear Technician Apprenticeship can now request NSAN to carry out the delivery of the independent End Point Assessment (EPA). Providers for the Nuclear Technician apprenticeship can be found by clicking here.
Roland Fletcher, Apprentice Assessment Organisation lead for NSAN commented:
“Apprentices in England are undergoing a radical transformation. All apprentices must now undergo End Point Assessment by an independent Apprentice Assessment Organisation. Supporting nuclear organisations in their end-point assessment needs is a natural progression for NSAN. We plan to further develop this aspect of our business to provide similar services for other nuclear industry occupations, as new apprenticeship standards become available.”
Over the past 3 years working with the Nuclear Employer Trailblazer Group, NSAN has provided extensive support to the co-ordination and development of 5 Nuclear Trailblazer Standards and Assessment Plans (NHPM; Nuclear Science and Nuclear Engineer; Nuclear Welding Inspection Technician; Nuclear Operative and Nuclear Technician).
NSAN are currently working with industry on the development of the End Point Assessment requirements for the approved and published apprenticeship standards.
