BECBC has an open line of communication to our colleagues at Sellafield Ltd through the Head of Supply Chain Development and Innovation, Emma-Jayne Gooch. We will publish any updated information from this Department as soon as possible so that members are kept appraised of this ever changing situation. We are really appreciative of all the efforts that Sellafield Ltd are making on behalf of those members operating in the Supply Chain.
Below is the the latest communication from Emma-Jayne, which was emailed out to the supply chain earlier today.
Further extension to pause on work across site
Our pause on construction work has been extended to Monday 13 April 2020, while we continue to identify the key work that needs to continue and which of our key workers and supply chain are needed on site.
This work is being done during a time of considerable uncertainty and we want to ensure we get it right.
The pause includes all construction work currently being undertaken by the Projects Delivery Directorate and most other project work on-site, with some key exceptions where stopping work could impact on nuclear safety.
Our contractor community has been informed of the decision to extend the pause. An update on the next steps will be issued no later than Thursday, 9 April.
Any emergent works will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
