Birmingham 2022 to ramp up tendering and staff numbers
Organisers behind the Birmingham Commonwealth Games are ramping up tendering with plans to invite bids for a further £145m of work this year.
As the countdown starts to July 2022, the promoting body plans to double its workforce, recruiting 109 staff to accelerate preparations.
The Games Overlay Turnkey contracts are worth around £87m, with services needed including stands, fencing, tent structures and temporary roof structures, portable/modular buildings, groundworks, civils, internal build-out, scaffolding, pedestrian and vehicle trackways and exhibition equipment.
Expressions of interest in a market engagement for this work need to be in by 27 May.
