COVID-19 Supply Chain Update 2 from Emma-Jayne Gooch
BECBC has an open line of communication to our colleagues at Sellafield Ltd through the Head of Supply Chain Development and Innovation, Emma-Jayne Gooch. We will publish any updated information from this Department as soon as possible so that members are kept appraised of this ever changing situation. We are really appreciative of all the efforts that Sellafield Ltd are making on behalf of those members operating in the Supply Chain.
Below is the second communication from Emma-Jayne, which was emailed out to the supply chain earlier today.
Subject: COVID-19 Supply Chain
I wanted to provide you with an update.
We continue to consider the impact on our supply chain as we plan and make decisions regarding COVID-19.
It is essential that we keep the Sellafield site safe and secure whilst following Government advice to ensure the safety of our workforce.
You will have seen the message from Martin Chown, our CEO, who is passionate about ensuring that people with symptoms do self-isolate and don’t feel under pressure to come into work due to financial constraints. He advised that all our suppliers throughout all tiers of our supply chain will pay their staff basic wages during the 7–14 day period of self-isolation and this will be an allowable cost in these circumstances.
In these challenging times the Sellafield site and offices do remain open and operational, we remain focussed on our mission and we want to maintain progress on all work fronts.
I know that businesses remain concerned regarding the impact COVID-19 will have on them, and below for information are some links on help available to you:
We will continue to update you as new information becomes available. In the meantime if you are a current supplier and you are concerned about your business health please email: firstname.lastname@example.org
In these difficult times remember to look after yourself and others.
Stay safe and be kind
Head of Supply Chain Development & Innovation
