Go-ahead for South Humber Bank power station expansion
VPI Immingham's 299MW addition is granted development consent order by Business and Energy Secretary Alok Sharma
A significant expansion at a South Humber bank power station has been given government go-ahead.
The Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, Alok Sharma, has granted the development consent order for the VPI Immingham Open Cycle Gas Turbine addition.
It will provide a further 299MW of capacity at South Killingholme, together with gas and electrical connection infrastructure.
VPI Immingham is a 1,240 MW combined heat and power plant, rated as one of the most efficient in Europe.
