Harmony Energy receives planning permission for 30-MW solar project in UK
October 30 (Renewables Now) - UK project developer Harmony Energy Storage Limited (HESL) on Thursday said it has secured planning permission to construct a 30-MW solar park in the UK, its first venture into solar.
The planning permission is for a subsidy-free project located on low-grade agricultural land near Driffield, East Riding of Yorkshire.
Founded in 2010, Harmony previously developed onshore wind projects before shifting its attention to energy storage and solar. At present, the company has 500 MW worth of shovel-ready battery energy storage in the UK, another 200 MW in the planning stage and more than 200 MW of ongoing opportunities in the solar power sector.
