Sad news about Adrienne Easterbrook of Energus

We are sorry to be bringing you very sad news about Adrienne Easterbrook of Energus, a friend and colleague to many BECBC members.

NDA announcement:

"We are all extremely saddened to have learned of the tragic death of our friend and colleague, Adrienne Easterbrook.

Our thoughts and sympathies are with her family, friends and colleagues at this incredibly difficult time.

Adrienne was an inspirational figure and was well known as the General Manager of Energus in Workington, the centre of excellence for education training and events. She positively touched so many people’s lives and helped a generation of young people start their careers.

She had a passion for helping people learn, harness their talent and fulfil their potential, and I know she was so proud of every single person who came through the doors of Energus to embark on one of the training programmes she led so well.

Among her many achievements was the widely celebrated and award-winning nucleargraduates programme, the unique scheme responsible for helping hundreds of graduates find roles across the whole of the nuclear industry.

Outside work Adrienne was a well-known and much loved member of the West Cumbrian community, giving her time to support several valuable local causes. She regularly fund-raised for local palliative charity Hospice at Home West Cumbria, organising raffles and charity events.

She was also a strong advocate of mental health awareness in young people, helping raise the profile of this important subject that was close to her heart.

We will be offering support to Adrienne’s colleagues who have been deeply affected by the sad news."

All at BECBC are thinking of Adrienne's family, her wonderful team at Energus (our venue partner) and all those friends and acquaintances that knew her. We will all miss her.

UPDATE 16 Dec 2020:
If you would like to contribute in memory of Adrienne, her family have chosen the Young Minds charity for donations. Adrienne was an advocate for Mental Health, particularly in young people and worked closely with this charity on numerous occasions.
