Business and Schools Collaboration Project
The Business and Schools Collaboration Project is a BECBC initiative, delivered on our behalf by Inspira. It enables member companies to participate in the development of local talent through collaborations with schools, developing young people’s awareness and aspirations through encounters with enterprise.
“A truly collaborative effort to bring together employers to achieve a much-improved level of coordination and quality in our education outreach programmes.”
Ken McEwen, Centre of Nuclear Excellence (CoNE)
Delivered under contract from BECBC by a team at Inspira, the Project enables businesses to get involved with events in schools easily and efficiently and also enables schools to establish new contacts and collaborations with the wide range of businesses active in Cumbria.
- The Collaboration project is about raising aspirations and awareness of the many opportunities with employers in West Cumbria - it is not just about STEM subjects.
- The Calendar is for use by anyone in business in Cumbria, not only BECBC members.
- All sorts of events and activities throughout secondary school age groups are included in the Project and this is a developing area with new approaches welcome.
- The Collaboration project relies on funding and donations from local companies, organisations and stakeholders.
You can support the Business and Schools Collaboration Project with a donation here and see progress towards our funding goal here. The leaflet is downloadable with further details and you can get involved through the Events Calendar.
