This workshop is suitable for anyone from BECBC member companies who would like to inform and inspire future generations in West Cumbria by supporting business interactions in schools but wants:
to feel more confident about presenting in schools
to learn more about the support available to you at school events
to understand how to engage the students in the session
The BECBC Socio-Economic group has developed two presentations for secondary schools:
The new “Constellation of Opportunities” PowerPoint Presentation encourages students to aspire. This doesn’t focus on one sector, one job type or one route but informs them about the options open to them and is presented by a variety of volunteers from the BECBC community.
The Social Media presentation encourages students to think about how their use of Social Media could affect future job applications with a real life example of how one social media post can affect your future and one showing how someone used social media to get a job with the company they admired.
This course will put you back in the classroom with Dianne presenting these presentations to you as if you were the students while adding in notes about how to bring in stories from your own & others careers to illustrate points. Vicky Ritson from inspira will also attend to share how Inspira can support you when you go into schools.
This course will give you the tools you need to feel confident presenting in schools whether you’re at the start of your career or further down the road.
Research has shown that 4 meaningful business interactions in an individual’s school career means they are 86% less likely to become NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training). If you want to be part of a team passionate about making that difference this course will show you how to do that.
