Jobs in Our Community is a well-established annual event which gives children who are about to make the transition to secondary school a direct encounter with the world of
work. The event helps to raise aspirations, broaden horizons and excite young minds about future career possibilities. Inspira works in partnership with many local businesses
and schools to stage the event.
To give children a better sense of the world of work; most children's awareness remain as limited to the jobs of their parents.
To raise aspirations and to encourage children living in more deprived communities to aspire to higher paid professional occupations.
To inspire and motivate all children to achieve their potential
To challenge stereotypes about jobs
Increase awareness about employment opportunities
Increase understanding of how school subjects relate to future working life
Reducing gender-specific job stereotyping
We are looking for local employers to come along and offer something fun and interactive for Year 6 students to engage with.
Registration is required for this event. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org with details of who will be attending this event.
