October's member meeting is themed around a subject we're seeing in the press and on social media, hearing about in conversations and is an essential for businesses: people. How do we build the best businesses here in Cumbria? What are the facts about the labour market locally? What are the practical steps we can take as businesses to ensure we build the best possible team for our organisation? How do we engage with qualified or developing potential employees who may not see themselves in our workforce?
If you'd like the chance to make contacts as people arrive, set up a banner and bring along literature or branded goods could you be our Meet & Greet volunteers at the meeting on 6th October?
We will be featuring members in our newsletter each week chosen randomly from our website-if you'd like to feature in our newsletter please check you've completed your business profile-if you haven't completed your profile you can't go in the draw!
Member of the week: RBES (Cumbria) Ltd

We will be discussing the new CSR and Sustainability Level 4 Apprenticeship following the decision to support a cohort in February 2022. If you are able to commit to either upskilling a member of staff or taking on a new apprentice on this framework to join the cohort please email dianne.richardson@becbusinesscluster.co.uk to register your interest. We will also have a group discussion on volunteering to see if there's anything we can do to support volunteering in the area. We know many schools are struggling for governors and charities for trustees. Can we help in some way?
