BECBC, CBI, Cumbria Chamber of Commerce, Cumbria Tourism, FSB and Make UK are delighted to invite business leaders from across Cumbria to attend the Cumbria Mayoral Business Hustings 2027 ahead of the election for Cumbria's first-ever Mayor.
This is a unique opportunity to hear directly from candidates representing the major political parties as they set out their vision for Cumbria's economic future, discuss their priorities for supporting business growth, and respond to questions from employers across the county. All invited candidates are expected to participate.
The hustings will bring together business leaders from a wide range of sectors and provide valuable insight into how candidates would work with employers to drive investment, create jobs, improve infrastructure, and support economic prosperity across Cumbria. Following opening statements from each candidate, the event will feature a moderated discussion and audience Q&A.
Attendance is free of charge, with priority given to members of the six co-organising business networks. To ensure as many organisations as possible can take part, attendance will initially be limited to two delegates per organisation, although this allocation may be reduced in the event of oversubscription.
