Cookie Policy

There are three different types of cookies present on our website.

1. Functional Cookies

Our website content management system (Expression Engine) makes use of functional cookies which are essential to store your cookie preferences and also to allow you to use various forms within the site.

The cookies “exp_last_activity” and “exp_last_visit” also allow us to optionally show you which content has been updated since your last visit.

The privacy policy of Expression Engine can be viewed here

2. Website Reporting Cookies

This website uses software called Google Analytics to provide us with statistical information to improve our website’s content and functionality by reporting, for example, which are the most popular pages and / or which search terms were entered to reach the site.

No individual can be identified by the data which is collected. These cookies are set automatically unless you have disabled cookies in your browser.

3. Social Plugins

Our site also includes so-called “social plugins” to connect with social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Linked In so that, for example, you can conveniently “like” an article or follow BECBC on other platforms.

Social plugins do allow personal data to be collected which can be identified with an individual. These cookies are set by the relevant social networking site, but will not be set unless you consent to accept them.  For further information, please visit the privacy policies of the relevant organisation.

The privacy policies of the relevant sites can be found here:

Linked In

In order to avoid your personal data being collected here on or other sites, we recommend you sign out of all social networking sites. To find out more about cookies and / or disabling cookies in your browser, visit
