Copeland Age and Advice Service (CAAS) is a not-for-profit Social Enterprise providing information, advice and support to over 55’s in Copeland to enable them to live safely and independently. The service launched in October 2019 after identifying a gap in service provision which was having a huge impact on clients, their families, NHS, Social Care and other third sector organisations who were already under great strain and has supported over 6,500 clients to date. Our top priorities are to reduce Poverty, Loneliness and Isolation, and support with long-term health problems both physical and mental. The team provide early intervention/preventative support to individuals who, if left unsupported would more likely need to rely on Social Care and NHS services in the future. We aim to reduce inequalities by ensuring that everyone can support themselves and manage financially, understand and access their housing options and access support to enable them to live independently.
