An industry-led cluster, acting as a combined public and private sector investment accelerator, to promote industrial decarbonisation and clean growth projects across the North West
Net Zero North West (NZNW) aims to spearhead the industrial decarbonisation in the North West of England and North East Wales. As a pivotal organisation, it leverages collaboration between industry, government, and academia to own a strategic spatial plan for whole system industrial decarbonisation to accelerate the transition to a sustainable and economically prosperous region. Vision: To establish the North West as the UK's leading region in achieving Net Zero, demonstrating a coherent and innovative approach to industrial decarbonisation and sustainable economic growth. Mission: To drive the transition to a low-carbon economy through strategic investments, collaborative project execution, and the advancement of decarbonisation technologies and practices across industrial sectors. NZNW is uniquely positioned with industry leaders at the helm, from leading energy intensive manufacturers and energy supply chain companies, ensuring that the cluster is guided by those who are deeply embedded in the sectors it aims to transform. These leaders bring practical insights and strategic connections that enhance the cluster's ability to implement decarbonisation strategies. Their role is pivotal in aligning cluster activities with industry needs and opportunities, thus driving innovation and investment in sustainable practices. As the central coordination body, NZNW leverages its industry-led insights to foster collaboration and ensure that all initiatives are strategically aligned with regional and national Net Zero goals. This coordination extends to managing relationships across government, academia, and the private sector, ensuring that the cluster acts as a cohesive force in the industrial decarbonisation landscape.
