Cumbria O&M Services, COMS, is a leading UK provider of Operational, Maintenance and Engineering services to regulated industries nationwide.

The company provides innovative Operations, Maintenance and Engineering solutions/strategies as a means of increasing asset lifespans and productivity as well as ensuring regulatory compliance. Our services cover the full range of asset lifecycle stages including post operational and decommissioning activities. We also offer a full Pre-Operations and O&M Delivery capability for new build projects supporting the project from concept design through to transition into operations and the provision of a Suitably Qualified and Experienced (SQEP) capability to support normal operations.

The COMS team hold a broad range of operational and maintenance capabilities based on a strong demonstrable working knowledge of nuclear Site Licence Conditions, associated systems, processes and procedures. Our team joins yours with the intent of working collaboratively as part of an integrated team, producing a defined set of deliverables, on a contract basis to a specified scope. Alternatively, COMS will assume responsibility for the full Pre-Operations function of a given project.

Since start-up the company has exceeded 150,000 hours worked (Dec 2018) without a lost time accident. The company has grown steadily year-on-year since foundation in 2014 and now proudly supports a 50+ strong team of engineering and operations professionals. Project Handover

The Key to any successful project is the smooth handover from the project team to the end user. We can review, identify gaps, compile or produce all necessary handover material to meet the project handover requirements.

Pre-Operations Support

Professional Pre-Operations Support is critical to the successful delivery of any Project or Task. We specialise in pre-ops ensuring that People, Plant and Processes are fit for purpose and facilitate the project’s transition into its operational phase.

Operations Support

The successful operation of a plant or process is fundamental to realising return on investment of the design intent. We provide full operational support or support the in-house team to ensure that People, Plant and Process requirements are implemented and that normal operations are uninterrupted.

Asset Management

Effective asset management identifies the appropriate requirements for the development and delivery of a safe and cost-effective asset lifecycle management programme.  We provide whole life management support of physical assets in conjunction with the facility owner to produce asset management plans, develop maintenance arrangements and conduct reassurance inspections.

Maintenance & Engineering Support

Professional Maintenance and Engineering support services are a crucial component in ensuring the successful lifecycle management of assets. We apply proven engineering concepts to equipment and procedures in order to achieve better reliability, maintainability and availability of equipment.

Training Support

The Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) is a methodology for managing training programmes. It is an orderly; logical approach to determining what people must know and do on a particular job or in a specific profession.
