Andrew Seekings, Chief Executive of Cumberland Council, met with Kurt Canfield, CEO of Delkia, on Monday 15 January 2024, to learn more about the outstanding growth of the company, which grew it’s business by 24% in 2023. Delkia has moved from a micro-business ten years ago to a significant specialist systems integrator with a turnover of £7.4M, operating in Clean Energy, Aerospace and Maritime sectors. What’s more, Delkia contributes to some of the largest safety and mission-critical national infrastructure projects in the UK.

Andrew Seekings, Chief Executive of Cumberland Council said: “Delkia's commitment to excellence aligns with our vision for growth and innovation and I’m delighted to hear that they are going from strength to strength with their two sites here in West Cumbria. Our schools, colleges and education providers in Cumberland are preparing the next generation of engineers ready to begin their careers with an innovative and forward-thinking organisation such as this. The employment opportunities available here on our doorstep are world-class and I’ve no doubt that aspiring engineers and others will have a bright future, contributing towards projects of significant impact.”

Kurt Canfield said: “It’s a real pleasure to welcome Andrew to Delkia and discuss our plan to continue to grow the company. Cumbria and the Northern Powerhouse has been a great base from which to expand. Our objective is to become the UK’s leading engineering and technology partner for safety-related and mission-critical systems.”
