New funding opportunity in offshore wind opening soon

Innovate UK is investing up to £10m in the first phase of the Offshore Wind Innovation Programme to accelerate UK business growth and strengthen the UK’s global leadership in offshore wind. Opening on 7 April 2026, these two competitions will support early and mid-stage offshore wind innovation projects.

Feasibility studies - supporting early-stage projects exploring the potential of new technologies across areas such as turbine technology, foundations, electrical systems and cables, environmental services, and installation and operations.

Industrial research - supporting more developed technologies, focusing on offshore wind turbine blades or towers, foundation and substructure solutions for deep water, and reducing cable failure rates.
These competitions are open to UK-based companies, including SMEs, working in offshore wind and related supply chains.
