NIS Apprentice Secures Spot in National Welding Competition
We’re proud to share that Kian Brocken, a second-year Fabrication and Welding Apprentice at NIS, has secured a place as a finalist in the prestigious WorldSkills UK Welding Competition.
The competition is designed to test proficiency across the three core welding processes: Manual Metal Arc (MMA), Metal Active Gas (MAG), and Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG).
Facing strong competition from across the UK, Kian successfully showcased his skills through a series of challenging tasks. These involved welding test pieces in carbon steel, aluminium, and stainless steel, across a range of welding positions.
We wish Kian the very best of luck as he prepares to compete in the national final, taking place this November in South Wales.
