NIS Principal Welding Engineer best in Europe
We are proud to announce that NIS Principal Welding Engineer, Lawrence Barboza has won the European Welding Federation (EWF) Best European Welding Coordinator.
The award was presented during the EWF General Assembly held in Lisbon, Portugal earlier this month. Winners of the EWF Best European Welding Coordinator have to demonstrate extensive knowledge and understanding of ISO3834 as well as:
- hold the European Welding Engineer Diploma.
- have been working as a responsible welding coordinator (rWC) for a minimum of 12 months.
- at an organisation that has been certified by an EWF member.
Lawrence, who is also a Charter Engineer with a Masters Degree is Material Science, joined the NIS Manufacturing team in 2019, was quickly promoted to Principal Welding Engineering and is responsible for developing welding processes and maintaining NIS’ accreditation to ISO3834 and BS EN 1090 part 2. Playing a key role in training, enhancing and evolving NIS’ welding capability to meet current and future sector requirements.
