I’ve blinked and somehow we’re already at the end of January… You know what that means?! It’s time for the first YGN Newsletter of 2026 - and we’ve kicked off the new year with an absolute bang! From Outreach to Industry, International to Inclusion and everything in between, January has been packed with YGN activity, and you can catch up on it all in this edition.

As always, the YGN has a whole host of exciting opportunities coming your way this year, all designed to support your development and inspire the next generation of nuclear professionals. But 2026 is extra special… because the YGN turns 30! We’ve got some plans up our sleeves to celebrate three decades of energy, enthusiasm and impact so watch this space. And who knows? By getting involved in our events or volunteering with us this year, you might help shape the legacy the YGN leaves for the next 30 years.

Before we dive in, I want to say a huge thank you to the 2025 Strategic Committee, Sub‑Committees and all our volunteers for everything they delivered last year. And of course, a special shout‑out to Craig Pilkington, our brilliant 2025 Chair, for doing such an incredible job leading the YGN (and for leaving me some rather large shoes to fill)!
