Views of energy sector supply chain sought for Family, Privately-owned and Owner-Managed Business Survey
BECBC members are invited to take part in a survey to help provide vital insights into the challenges they face, their plans for growth and the opportunities available to them.
Accountants, Business and Financial Advisers, Armstrong Watson, have launched their 2026 Family, Privately Owned and Owner-Managed Business Survey, the sixth of its kind to date, and are urging as many businesses as possible to take part.
The firm, which gained more than 850 responses in its 2025 survey, is hoping that this year’s will be the biggest and most impactful yet, providing valuable insight across a broad range of sectors and regions.
The multiple-choice survey asks family, privately owned and owner-managed companies about areas including people, digitalisation and technology, innovation and growth, and planning to let go.
Businesses are continuing to operate in a complex and fast-changing environment, facing persistent cost pressures, labour market challenges and uncertainty around interest rates and economic growth, while also making important decisions around technology and innovation, regulatory and tax change, sustainability, growth and succession planning.
As with previous surveys, the results will be used to spot trends, highlighting issues and opportunities and areas where businesses may need assistance. Armstrong Watson will also compare the latest responses to the feedback published in the 2025 report. The full summary is then compiled into a free downloadable report - as well as focused findings on specific regions and sectors - and distributed to key influential stakeholders across the UK to ensure that the views of the family, privately owned and owner-managed business community are heard and are front of mind.
Paul Dickson, Armstrong Watson’s Chief Executive and Managing Partner, said: “We are keen to hear from as many businesses as possible as it’s crucial we take the time to listen and take stock. This year, this level of insight feels more important than ever. It is only by understanding current issues and trends, as with our previous surveys, that we as advisers are best placed to help businesses achieve their goals.”
The survey is now live and any family, privately-owned or owner-managed business wishing to take part can do so by visiting www.surveymonkey.com/r/Z55MCB9 or scanning the QR code in the dowload below.
Anyone completing the survey also has the opportunity to enter a draw to win a £200 Amazon voucher.
