BECBC Monthly Member Event (January 13th 2022)

Our first event of 2022 will focus on supply chain opportunities.

Susan Lussem, Executive Director, Supply Chain at Sellafield Ltd will give an update from Sellafield Ltd, the Overarching Acquisition Strategy and supply chain progress.

Rolls-Royce SMR will present an overview of its Small Modular Reactor power plant. A different way of building nuclear, Rolls-Royce SMR is a factory fabricated power plant delivered as a series of road transportable modules to assembled expediently within a site factory environment. This programme will delivery significant growth and benefit to UK industry as we seek to deliver a fleet of plants in the UK but also to export markets. Our factory fabricated approach minimises site activity and disruption instead moving activity into specialist module factories and the supply chain to deliver long term security across a global fleet roll-out. Rolls-Royce will discuss the wider benefits that this approach can bring to the Cumbria region.

Mark Cullinan, Gillian Johnston and Kelly Anderson from the Copeland GDF Community Partnership/Working Group will talk about:

• The transition from Working Group to Community Partnership

• Differences between Community Partnership and Working Group

• Community involvement

• Community Investment Funding process

• Supply chain /procurement opportunities
