We are excited for Engineering and Science T Level educators to join us at Lancashire Energy HQ Blackpool & The Fylde College for a day to hear about the UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) fusion energy programme and experience live demonstrations.
This day will include:
- arrival and welcome – tea/coffee
- intro to Fusion – The basics. Why we’re here, what we’re doing, what is UKAEA?
- RAICo – Why UKAEA are in Cumbria, what is RAICo, and how robotics and AI feed into fusion and fission. Unitree or spot dog demonstration
- CROSS – This is a project in Cumbria focussed on bringing robotics into a wider range of apprenticeships. Discussion on robotics apprenticeships, how fusion skills are applicable to fission, and why UKAEA are so keen to focus on these skills
- Quest Fused – the skills UKAEA apprentices really need to focus on in the fusion industry and why
- meet the apprentices – career panel
- lunch and networking.
There will be time for Q&A throughout the event and during the networking.
Lunch will be provided for you by UKAEA, you will be asked for your dietary requirements closer to the time.
