Contract Description: | The National Physical Laboratory [NPL] requirement is for a portable optical gas imaging (OGI) camera which conforms to the ATEX directives on products for use in potentially hazardous atmospheres. The purpose is to allow NPL to conduct leak detection surveys on industrial sites within Zone 2 atmospheres. The camera should be sensitive around the 3.3 μm wavelength region and be able to detect and visualise methane and other hydrocarbon VOCs. The system should, at a minimum, be able to meet the EPA OOOOa requirement for visualising hydrocarbon gases however a system with much greater sensitivity is highly desirable. |
