Framework agreement for manufacturing of 10B Enriched Boron Carbide targets. ESS will procure 10B Enriched Boron Carbide powder that will be provided to the Contractor. The targets are needed for the planned coatings for building Multi-Grid detectors and Multi-Blade detectors. The purpose of these targets is as sputtering targets for a DC magnetron PVD sputtering process.
Supply and delivery of up to 80 10B Enriched Boron Carbide Targets.
The maximum amount of targets ordered under the framework agreement, during the maximum period of five years, will be 80.
The estimated need for ESS is 4 targets per month for the first year, with the possibility to deliver up to 12 targets at once (every third month). However, the frequency of deliveries can be proposed by the tenderer as part of their technical proposal.
The supplier shall be able to deliver 48 targets during a period of 12 months from the contract signature.
The lead time for the targets will be as specified in the tender. The lead time is calculated from the date the supplier has received both the purchase order and the 10B4C powder from ESS.
Framework Agreement with three suppliers based upon a cascade system, to ensure security of supply throughout the agreement’s duration. The preference is for targets from one supplier. Agreement’s initial duration is 1 year, autorenewal each year, maximum of 5 years duration.

The last date for submitting questions (which must be done via the ESS Supplier Portal), including any request for an extension to the deadline, is 28/01/2021.
