Development of Compact Hydro-Energy Devices (CHEDs) - Engineering Academy

Co-Lab Engineering has teamed up with an innovative start-up; Technology Consortia Cumbria, to develop Compact Hydro Energy Devices (CHEDs).

The project, funded by Innovate UK, is the first of its kind and has the potential to change the face of power generation, help the UK to achieve net carbon zero objectives, and improve sustainability in the UK and beyond.

Co-Lab Engineering is now looking for participants to take part in the project starting in January.

Participants will develop their skills during the project through the proven approach of the Engineering Academy. Our delivery partners include the University of Cumbria, Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Centre for Leadership Performance, and TEDx speaker Jo Corbishley.

Those taking part will develop their project management, leadership, professional network, presentation, problem-solving, and competencies towards professional registration.

If you’re in full-time education or early careers (Apprenticeships, Graduate Schemes or Traineeships) this will provide an opportunity to develop your skills.

Those with an aptitude or experience in the following areas will be considered: Project Management, Sustainability, Control Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering.

There are two ways you can get involved:

Company Sponsorship – For those already in the industry looking to gain exposure to a different working environment.

External Sponsorship – (iSH) The Industrial Solutions Hub will sponsor two places at the Academy for participants from SMEs or Academia.

To get involved, please contact Clyne@co-Lab.Engineering no later than December 16 to reserve your place.
