The Mitie Business Boost returns for its third year, continuing its mission to support innovation, entrepreneurship and business growth across West Cumbria. This year’s programme focuses on Digital, Technology and Innovation, recognising the increasing importance of smart solutions in helping businesses evolve and thrive.

Whether it’s adopting digital tools to streamline operations or launching a tech-driven product, Business Boost 3.0 is designed to help turn ambition into action.

What is The Mitie Business Boost?

The Mitie Business Boost is a Dragon’s Den-style initiative that offers a comprehensive package of support to local innovators, entrepreneurs and SMEs. The programme provides access to funding, mentoring and expert-led workshops, helping businesses unlock their potential and accelerate growth.

Delivered in partnership with iSH, AtkinsRéalis, One Aim and SiX Sellafield, the initiative brings together a wide range of industry expertise and insight to support the next generation of West Cumbrian business leaders.

Participants in The Mitie Business Boost 3.0 can benefit from:

• a chance to win up to £40,000 to invest in their business idea
• Free expert mentoring and one-to-one support
• A programme of free workshops led by industry professionals
• Networking opportunities with business leaders and peers

Who should apply?

Business Boost 3.0 is open to:

• Innovators, entrepreneurs, start-ups or SMEs
• Based in or operating in West Cumbria
• Exploring digital adoption, launching tech-based products, or solving challenges through innovation
• Open to mentorship, collaboration and growth

Application categories

There are two core categories for applicants:

1. Digital Adoption – Improving business performance through technology such as CRM systems, automation, AI, ecommerce and data insight
2. Innovative Ideas – Launching a tech-driven product, service or solution with market or community impact
